the main reason was thats the more people started using bitcoin , many transactions have been done due to which it demand increased and bitcoin got a sharp rise in its value
yeah it already apply the law of demand and supply. the supply of bitcoin in 2017 is so small and demand is big thats why the price of bitcoin go high and now supply of bitcoin is very large then the demand become low.
