Ads, or facebook ads in particular doesn't really have much of an effect in the first place. Facebook ads are just not that effective. Remember that Facebook ads target specific users. People in this forum would definitely see those kind of ads but someone who doesn't have a single trace of even searching the word bitcoin wouldn't see any cryptocurrency related ads. A user that posts something about an ICO would better at selling that product than a fancy ad.
