I had the same doubt when (yesterday) I tried to withdraw IOTA from my account.
So I tried to copy and past the address to notepad and the characters are in the string.
However, since yesterday I have been waiting for the transfer to begin (it is still "processing"...I opened a support ticket and I'am waiting for a response).

Pleas read again....I've never said that receive adress can be shortened.
I said that in my case I tried to "copy and past" the address (that It seemed "shortened") in a notepad and was not "shortened" (that's all!).
Absolutely....if the address is shorter, it's not good!
If you didn't saw the full adresslength in the Bitfinex "Receive Adress Field" then it got shortened, this is what I did want to say. I also checked the clipboard included the full adress.
