1070 SP Lux = $3.47
580 Dcr+Eth = $3.1

ETH is for a lazy mining, set and forget.   And ETH profits now higher than usual due to  recent jump in ETH price. Most time of the year it was losing to 1070 more.
With 580 you can always look on more profitable coins on cryptonight algo. With 1070  you need to look to much more algos, and have to change it often to maximize profit.

That's neat. It doesn't stop it from being correct. Eth profit right now is maintaining better then other coins due to it not declining as fast as other alt coins. Look at the monthly trend for Eth, still going down, but not as slow.

The crucial bit here is the 580 was running about ~$300 most of the year while the 1070 was running ~$450.

Yup and you think I'm the only one looking for new algos to mine? As I mentioned that's staple coins and if you have a super niche coin that doesn't get exploited consider yourself lucky. If people find it, it's gone.

Cryptonote is not more profitable then dual mining on a 580. It only is if you don't look at your earnings. If you're talking about Vega, that's different. Also a very niche GPU to mine with.

Use NeoScrypt and get more profit

NeoS coins are earning just as much as either LUX or BTX, they also don't work well on GDDR5(X) GPUs. That niche has already been exploited.

The profit is declining. What are you mining?  Huh  Grin

Sad

And we'll be in trouble if BTC slips to $5k.
