You don't kick people just because you don't agree with them. It's called Freedom of Speech. We live in a democracy. Your attitude should be: "I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." Just let stupid people be. The best way to put them in their proper place? Ignore them.

While I agree with your ignore them sentiment, your understanding of freedom of speech is incorrect. Freedom of speech means you have the right to express yourself, but that does not excuse you from the repercussions of your expression, be it ridicule or banning. Freedom of speech does not mean that someone has to suffer your expression, especially on a public platform like a forum such as this. You have the right to freedom of speech so you can say what you like on your own blog but you run the risk of being banned on someone else's platform such as this.
