you probably meant indonesian right? there are not that many indians living in indonesia (compared to, say, singapore).
Singapore and Malaysia are having sizable Indian minorities because Tamil laborers were imported to those counties during the British colonial rule. Indonesia was under the Dutch colonial rule and there was no need for importing laborers from elsewhere. Even then, you can find small Tamil minorities in cities such as Medan and Jakarta.
although Singapore itself is such a tiny country that absolute numbers wise I'd be extremely surprised if there were more Indians living there vs. Indonesia. Percentage wise maybe!
Well, it is true. Around 9% of the Singaporean population is of Indian origin, which amounts to approx. 350,000. On the other hand, there are around 120,000 people of Indian origin in Indonesia. (Please don't confuse Indonesian Hindus with Indians, as all of them are natives and not Indian immigrants).
