Is there any plan steemit would allow advertisement to let content creator to monetize on their content further? I think it will add an extra layer of incentive for people get involved and speed up the adoption. Is it possible to add it to the current model somehow?
The idea is that there are no advertisements on the platform, because first of all who know what information is being collected through ads (since they use JS and pull information from 3rd party server) and above all we know how ads can get irritating. You can earn steem via others when they upvote your post which should be enough, although we started to see that steem is starting to be abused by people and these voting bots. Sooner or later it will just turn into money making machine than like it was meant to be "good quality" content platform.
I understand what you are saying. That's why I was wondering if the platform itself provided the service eliminating the need for any third-party servers. I also get what you meant by "good quality" content, but I am not sure whether ignoring an entire revenue system altogether is good or bad. I mean the content creator could always opt out if he/she is not in favour of this.
