No it can't. Bitcoin can help people earn a living, increase their profit, reduce unemployment but not eliminate the poverty experienced by many around the world. When talking about bitcoin, internet connection is needed and also a device such as laptop or desktop. The people living under poverty does not have an access to it, so therefore they cannot engage in bitcoin.
You are right. I think there is no opportunity for the poor to accept bitcoin investment at all. And they also have no extra funds to invest in, so it may only make the rich richer and the poor poorer.
