I thinks it's not normal for a new cryptocurrecy without initial coin offering. Because community has a very important role in coin. And a fund raising for you to cover the expenses on listing on exchanges and other expenses for a coin to be successful. Or you can create airdrop and bounty to spread the word of a new coin.
