Even though the loss was the cause. Depression is what killed her/him; the intense and maddening feeling of emptiness and pointlessness in life.
Once the mind enters that state, suicide is kinda rational. But sad that she/he wasn't able to seek advise and learnt that all she/he needs to do is to HODL.
