So what exactly is the deal? I can't figure out what and when things are happening?
I still run the old wallet because my pc won't let me run the new one because of continues virus messages. I know it could be a false-positive but the old wallet did not have that. Can someone tell me what the consequences will be if you let the old wallet run while some sort of fork takes place? I haven't been this confused about a coin in a long time. Don't know what to do really

When fork occurs, the old algorithm will work too, but as the coin goes to a new algorithm - the stock exchange also goes to the new algorithm. Who then sell coins from the old algorithm if they are not sold anywhere? And change later, make a profit and switch to a new algorithm, too, will not work - there will be a conflict of algorithms and a loss of all coins.
