what calculator are you using, and what's your power cost?  the nicehash profitability calculator says the break even point on a 1070ti is like $0.65 USD / kWh.  If you use that same rate, the 1050ti is not profitable either.  So, if you are using the nicehash profitability calculator, either you had custom values entered and didn't realize it, or maybe it was a bug and you should try again.  Also, use whattomine for comparison...
