Good news TH is finally going to test the new K16 PCB.
Seems like this should have been done a couple of weeks ago.
If changes need to be made this could cause more delays.
Lets hope it goes well and the boards hash with low hardware errors rates this time.
This should have been done in mid-late July, not just a couple weeks ago. Truth is, even if TH had received the chips on time they would not have been ready to have the boards made and shipped by Aug. 15th.
The Spartans were parsimonious of patter. When they refused Athenian terms, on one occasion, the herald declared : "If we come to your city, we will raze it to the ground."
The Spartan answer was the one word: "If."
"If" is a two letter word with a huge meaning. If a bunch of gas particles did not get together to form the Sun, we wouldn't be here today.
Meaning that you had no idea that the chips would not have come when you expected them, i.e., approx. Aug. 1st. Meaning you should have been placing orders and had ALL parts, and had all test boards running at 100% expecting the chips at the beginning of August, but you did not. Had the chips arrived when they were supposed to (and you had no absolute reason to believe they wouldn't), you would not have had the parts to put the boards together and deliver by Aug. 15th. The claim that you did not order so that you could refund some money is irrelevant since you did not have foreknowledge that the chips would not arrive on time. IOW, that was never and could not possibly have been a reason for having all parts ready and test products functioning.
Not trying to be an ass about it, just calling it what it is. TH was not ready to meet the expected delivery date. "Luckily" for them, Avalon failed to come through, which bought TH some time to get its ducks in a row. This is possibly the same for other group buys since there were some part shortages reported with the PICS. But now the late deliveries can be blamed on Avalon.
