I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about and I am using myetherwallet almost daily. I just checked the page and everything is looking as it always had, didn't enter private key just in case since I don't need to use it at the moment. What change of name???

It's seems like you don't use Twitter. Grab some popcorn and check @mycrypto and @myetherwallet channels on Twitter.

tl;dr Myetherwallet owners splited now there is two websites operated separately.

Which one is secure?

Virustotal shows mycrypto as phishing website (https://www.virustotal.com/#/url/420d7e7e680ed367bb64c679f6d8c08fe463c8db3f577c177567ef0bf2ba8368/detection), so I won't be using it. Original MEW seems to be safe but still be cautious.

I saw that too. If they both become not safe. What do you guys prefer to use?

Thanks for sharing those twitter links. I glanced trough them and read some stuff on Reddit & watched on YouTube.
My conclusion is following:
- MyEtherwallet developers had a falling out and most of them went away and decided to start competing against Myeterwallet with the new project called Mycrypto.
- Both sites should be legit, but I will for the time being continue with old one and/or Metamask
- Your Ethereum should be safe, this was not a hack. After all MEW is just an interface and if it goes down you just take your private keys and use them on some other interface (ie. metamask) to access your funds
