Well whats wrong with Steemit? As far as I know they are growing. Of course not as fast as Facebook did, but if you think about that Facebook is a very strong competition and Steemit mainly for crypto users at the moment. Beside that it is more focused on blogging and still quite userunfriendly. Also they have some very useless rules there like let people use bots to get more upvotes and money but in the same moment they get crazy about if you tag your posts wrong lol the Steemit community is mostly driven by greed instead of good content. And that is maybe the point why Steemit ultimately will fail to get really big.
But Sphere looks much more useful as a replacement for Facebook here, at least in the beginning for crypto user.
Steemit is good, popular social platform. I have used Steemit recent months, it works smoothly. Sphere is likely a competitor for Facebook, not Steemit. I recently started blogging on Steemit. I must say that it is indeed a steep learning curve, and it's definitely not ready for mass adoption. If their text editor was half as good as bitcointalk's, I'd be so happy. I do agree that Sphere isn't a direct competitor to Steemit, but I am open to blogging on Sphere if it was easier to use & simpler to be rewarded.
What different between Steemit and Sphere? How about Golos? This 2 crypto social network which I know, and they are popular (Steemit and Golos). May be Sphere have a chance become popular too
As I said, Steemit is for a different target group and it is more about blogging (even if people are using it for other stuff too). Also it is really user unfriendly in my eyes and has strange rules and in my eyes a community which is driven by greed (not everyone but most). Also there are different parties/fractions of users who are in some kind of war on steemit as you can downvote other ones posts so that they dont get a payment.
I am really looking forward to Sphere and hopefully a much more userfriendly interface and not such strange rules.
