Dogecoin has fluctuations where it has 50-100% swings. If you time these swings correctly you ought to make money.

I, like a  lot of people, consider it to be a joke coin. It's only value today - 2018 - is that the transaction cost is very low and it is near instantaneous.

This is not a reason to "invest" in it. It may be a reason to speculate that you could make money riding the wave. But I would recommend taking your time and energy and researching other currencies. But, your mileage may vary.
