Robberies like that have been happening all around the world and those targeted were wealthy businessmen that were known to have cash in the house. Crypto used to be ignored since robbers were unfamiliar with technicalities and didn't want to risk it going down in value before they can sell it. Cash was much easier to steal and launder.
