I think there are only two different views that may result to a couple who both gamble. One is that they will have strong bond that may result to stronger relationship. Their hobby, which is gambling may be a good experience that they may enjoy and share together. On the other hand, this may also be the cause of their misunderstanding that may affect their relationship
I have a little bit different opinion in this regard. Even if the couple has a strong relationship between them but when one will lose money or something else to beloved one, there will be a feeling of distrusting coming from inner side which will be saying to him that hes not your faithful friend. I think that feeling will make their bond weaker than it was before gambling. I am saying this because I have experienced this thing many times in my life.
I don't really like this idea of having a partner with same disease as me.
That sounds like a great thought. Having your partner into a profitable business must be a good idea but not into same frustrating area where you may catch your life time failures too.
I think gambling is not something that you can continue with your family members or the people who are close to you in your life because gambling always puts distances in you and your beloved ones as no one wants to see himself in loss while the one winning money from him who was once beloved to him and as you said that there would be an inner voice saying to him that he is not your faithful, it will truly happen and this could lead to the end of your relationship.
