I have tested flypool from Ubuntu.

However I used:
     ./funakoshiMiner -cd 0 -l eu1-zcash.flypool.org:3443 -u xxxxxxxx.rig0

Please use ssl port 3443

In the log you can see that connecting to wrong port 3334 has failed.

No need to sudo.
