After the most recent wave of crypto-craze, I finally got sucked in to the fun.  I have two computers I used for VR (one with a 1060 & the other 1070), and just barely got into mining.

If you're jumping in as an investment, then buying the coins is probably the best bet.

If you're pursuing a hobby, then yes get your own rig for sure.

Once mining on xbox one becomes a thing, that might be a good route to diversify with since it's estimated to get around 900 H/s and they are often on sale for $200 brand new.
