Mostly like in any Eastern Slavic country East of Slovakia the cities are totally fine, just gotta watch out for local idiosyncracies (stay smart, know where you are, like in NYC for instance
). The countryside I dont know, but from what Ive heard, locals are exceptionally friendly. BUT DRINK WITH THEM !!! - not one shot of vodka, say you don't drink alcohol - when they drink they start being jittery and shit gets weird, perhaps a bit unsafe.
