It worries my seeing many great posts getting no merits.
I heavily disagree. Almost all (if not all) the good posts/replies I've seen has been given one or more merits.
I have limited knowledge and skills to be able to earn these points and it freaks me out. I know at my level it isn't a must to earn but when my activity points go up I'll need them to rank up.
It's just simply survival of the fittest. In the past people can get to full member or higher just by simply logging in once every day and make one lazy post; hence accounts were easily farmed. The new merit system is one of the best updates made in bitcointalk in my opinion. Now the shit spammers stay where they should be, on

Jr member ranks.
