If I turned on VPN on my device then will my outgoing and ingoing traffic hidden to ISP (internet provider company)?

For example: if I will upload video on youtube, will my ISP be able to see this video?

I know that youtube will have ip of vpn provider BUT how I can protect my traffic from internet provider?
