If you get disconnected for a few seconds, that doesn't mean your profit is lost. Your profit is stored in the database.
The difficulty of Verge is going from low to very high ( From 3.x to 11.x ) this evening .... This means the difficulty has increased 4 times, and that the earnings get 4 times less during those hours. This evening it was very high and not many shares were found.

We are working on the stability around the clock, don't worry. Like i said, a few disconnects don't matter in 24 hours time. Your profits won't get hurt.
Perhaps some should consider mining XSH ( Shield ) instead of Verge.....The difficulty is much lower as far as i can see. You can mine shield by changing the c=XVG field to c=XSH.
