Newbies shouldn't be allowed to use the thread locking and self-moderating feature. It's a tool used to enhance the success rate of their scams. I have seen a few scam threads locked and all I could do was report it to the moderators. They still have a window of opportunity to scam someone up until a moderator deletes the thread or a DT member tags the scammer.

Restricting the locking and self-moderating feature to more advanced members might help stop throwaway accounts from creating scam threads. Would be nice to see this considered and introduced.
