If threads like this are required, doesnt that mean that the merit system is kinda broken?
I dont mean that the merit system is bad, its good in the sense that it encourages useleful posts. But the merit sources seems to be a little too strict as to the criteria in which merits are given.
Your thoughts?
No. It does not mean that it is "kinda broken"; it means that it has just been implemented and everyone is figuring out the best way(s) to distribute merit to every section and sub-section of this forum without being too liberal or strict about it. There are 57 merit sources and millions of members; they will not get to you all. There are more sources being added constantly, and specifically in an attempt to target the sub-communities that don't get enough attention or merit.
How does a user giving out merit points in a thread to users that deserve it prove the merit system is broken?
Merit is meant to be hard to achieve, otherwise it would be meaningless.
