Problem with this idea. What if someone else scores too? then you have to share the win with someone else and gets only half back. So you need to find a lottery with really high jackpot...
The powerball reached a jackpot of 1.6 Billion in May 2016. That is much higher than the 500 million for all combinations.
Splitting it is part of the risk we are taking but if that's the case, we go back to smaller lotteries and build back up. The money we get back from taxes will also offset the potential of a split as well as the other money making avenues mentioned above.
