The Monero blockchain is becoming very large, i wonder how big it will become in around 5 years time when Monero has mass adoption on the darkweb. Hardware wallets cant come soon enough either and will drive the price of XMR up high 
there is a significant transaction size reduction in/after testing and ready for a practical roll out soontm.
It needs some serious work to take place because it must be robust and thoroughly guerilla tested. From concept up.
