So, you are telling me, rather than setting up sell orders and have them filled (like they had been for a lot of time before this action) it is better to accept a lower price (like 10% less) and fill buy orders?

That is exactly how you liquidate a big position - big sellers need big buyers to sell into and to get filled at a guaranteed price. If you put big sell orders on the books it will repel buyers and they will never get filled. No disrespect but before saying something is stupid, atleast do your research, you will benefit in the long run from changing your attitude to what you think you know is right.
