That group is amazing but the issue is that some bitcoiners do not want to make the trip from the fraser valley down to van. Would be nice to have a local one, know what I mean?
True enough long distances are always a pain, just helping out by pointing a possible location, but the best of luck to you with your personal project we need one over here in Cowtown
and I'm certain a lot of places will have more bitcoin meetups in the long run. Best of luck mate and to mass bitcoin adoption
