I think it will not drops to 1k but if the situation worsens, this time bitcoin may touch even to 3.5k. IMO and it's not good for community and newbies. This time much more people may be punished and maybe they will not ever come back into bitcoin market. Very dramatic situation is now. But I hope that the market will be recovered before the disaster happen.
