Thats generally Pool specific. What Pool are you mining at?

It's definitely not pool related. Those orphans only happen when the networkhash/diff drops below a certain level, at that point it seems someone or something takes over the network and rewrites blocks, you can check debug.log for that. None of the other coins on my pool have this issue.

It's not pool related in your specific case maybe, but there are certainly pools with less latency than others and the chance of getting less orphans goes along with having less latency.
