I understand what you mean. But only very experienced traders can predict the end of "bears" and beginning of "bulls" (the best moment for buying).
For the majority of investors general rise of alts means that the crypto becomes profitable again. And it encourages most beginners and private investors to buy cryptos.

I think you are right. It must be my previous trader's experience interfering

At least both of you seem to have some experience in trading. I wish I had it too.
For me the rise means a good sign to buy.
