It can be as long as you are doing trade or just using it online on which some sites accepted bitcoin as mode of payment. However, in daily basis with an ordinary life I don't think bitcoin can be use as mode of exchange since it requires internet connection and some people are still don't know how to use it. It will take more time for this thing to happen, but still not sure.
