Not trying to be dense:  Is that what it really means?  I will say that I see a lot of coins for which that's exactly the case.

Check out Auroracoin for instance - a classic example of Airdrop.

Actually i haven't heard Much of an airdrop coin... I Thinks thats a crypto tokens giveaway, a centralize mobile app / remittance And i guess its a black chain like probonos with a promising ICOs.. It can also give you a thousand box if you sign in.. But some say its fake.. If its that true its a risk you haf to take...
