Nullius posts good stuff, is clearly intelligent, and a definite asset to the community.

Until someone calls him out, that is.

Unfortunately, he's unable to take criticism, and shelters behind this weird Jane Austin meets Carl Jung persona, which makes him irritating and patronising in the extreme.

I'm not saying the merits haven't been earned - they have been. He's contributed.

I'm just saying that this guy isn't God, and don't for one second be afraid to argue if you see an error. He won't react well, but who cares?

A contributor, but not a pleasant one. His problem, not ours.

I agree with you that it is a problem to deify anyone, even if they have a lot of good posts, and part of the issue is our own self, and sometimes we can become intimidated by very sophisticated posters - so in that regard, if we are going to respond or criticize anything, then we would need to make our criticism about a narrow point that we do understand or to make sure that we read enough and sufficiently to understand what we are criticizing exactly.

If we are sufficiently aware, then we will realize that in life there are going to be people who know way more than we do on a variety of topics, and sometimes even seemingly dumb people can have life experiences and knowledge that goes beyond our understanding (which could allow that they know more about some topics than we do).

Personally, i have an approach that I will give some benefit of the doubt to folks who I believe to be limited in their intellectual abilities, and even though I have also met people (IRL) who seem to be heads and shoulders above me in their mental abilities (and experiences), but I also try to NOT deify them, and there remain likely ways, that even geniuses (as you pointed out HodorHodl) have faults in their logic, their perceptions and/or their methods of communicating.
