If the USA banned Bitcoin it would certainly be bad for short term sentiment, but I don't think it would change anything long term. Fundamentals would still be present and you can be sure not all USA people would get rid of their Bitcoin despite it being illegal. It would be like living in the 1920s when they outlawed alcohol, oh what fun that seemed like!
