It is better without a war but since you are asking about ideas let me share my thoughts. War cannot be won by land area, by the number of troops but by how capable and technologically advanced a nation is. Given that China is technoligically advanced as said maybe it can have the edge over the other. So far as of now they might not have surpassed the advances US have made.
