Awful news, but at least the companies in iceland will now take new security measures to fight against what could become a new trend in organized crime, especially this year given how bitcoin mining in Iceland is becoming popular in the country.

A company that host 2 million$ worth of equipment and doesn't have a single guard ?
They had video surveillance but nobody was checking it? What's the point of it?

To be fair, I don't think anyone in Iceland expects a heist of this magnitude, they probably thought some surveillance cameras was more than enough.

How do you get off the island undetected with that amount of equiment? Or maybe they're still on the island setting up their own mining operation. How hard would it be to find them?
The reports say the police are tracking energy consumption so there's a high a chance that the rest of robbers will get caught along with the rigs once they turn on the equipment, and it shouldn't be difficult to find the mining equipment in such a small country with a population of almost 350k. The thieves are complete morons.
