I think the recent pump is due to the startups all over the news saying they're adopting btc.

We wouldn't be happy if it doesn't make any progress in terms of its prices.
The good news you talking about might just take some more time than we think to get implemented. If it becomes reality then we will get backed up with most powerful countries in the world and thus it will become sure thing that crypto currency is not going anywhere. On the other hand bitcoin market cap will increase to as Americans will jump in. Anyway thsoe are technical things and on the long run we should just have fiath in the bitcoin that's what I believe.
