I think it is possible in not so distant future. But not in this year, ofc.

I think Ethereum has a bright future as a platform for a smart contracts. It is like BTC - first and most honorable of it's kind. Same principle works with ETH. Too much time and efforts invested in this platform, so it will not dissapear and will not be adandoned. Basically lots of people are interested in keeping Ethereum alive. And with time ETH will most likely grow.
