No, this merit was introduced so that members can give merits to their alt accounts and friends so that they can all rank up easily.
What type of questions some members ask here really. Just go through your question 10 times and you will get the answer. I was skeptical about this merit business, but then got given 10 so think I'm OK with the idea now
