Yes and that is why developers who are forking a coin shouldn't be satisfied with plain copy, but instead improve the existing protocol and convince people with superior technology.
I think its not necessarily superior technology - it needs to be state of the art at least. If the surroundings match like improving usability or improving accessability then the coin has definetely the right to exist. Dev who are simply forking a coin an are satisfied strongly reminds me of scammers... - only in for the fast money...
I agree with you. Maybe my understanding of technology isn't correct but I would include improved usability and accessibility into the category of superior technology
