Is the airdrop only for those who participated in the ICO and move their tokens to the wallet? This is kind of what I understand right now...or anyone who moves their ERC20 ICX from exchanges to the new wallet can then participate in the airdrop?

If you read that update carefully than it has been stated clearly only ICO investors all eligible for that airdrop. Who bought after this are not eligible for this promo it doesn't from how long your are holding this token.
