Binance and kucoin credit you with GAS just fine. Though I would suggest to hold such a big amount to a dedicated wallet I guess.
169 NEO at this time is a pretty big amount so if you want to keep for long periods I think it's best to keep the wallet NEO offline. That is the safest way if you do not want to trade. Make a backup of your wallet and store the private key carefully to avoid theft.
