SavingCoin please
I'm urging you not to add SavingCoin -- at this point, these junk coins are devaluing this entire market. Each time one of these things is added, the same dev and his buddies are dumping their holdings and moving on to the next scam. By listing these coins, investors are losing trust in the entire market.
Notice how the ELP thread completely died the second ELP was listed on Cryptsy? No more daily bumps/etc -- all of those goons dumped their ELP into the laps of unsuspecting investors and moved on. This same scam is happening over and over again...and the SAV people are the exact same ELP people. Elephantcoin is now in the bottom 5 for mining profitability (just as I predicted.) There's no way you made enough money listing ELP to make it worth discouraging anyone that bought ELP from trading/investing in altcoins. You're shooting yourself in the foot!
I know you're in this for profit...but your profits will start to suffer if people (completely) stop taking altcoins seriously. At this rate, we're merely a few months away from the bottom potentially falling out here. It's already growing difficult to mine for a profit after power costs...and part of the reason is that these garbage coins keep getting listed on Cryptsy. As soon as I'm losing money, I'm going to stop mining...and most big miners will follow.
You have to draw a line now -- we need to see some innovation in order to list a currency on Cryptsy and not just the same crap over and over again. You can't let these idiots continue to get away with ripping everyone else off.
I'm telling you...if you think you have a good thing going here and want the success to continue...either take my advice or brace for impact. PM me if you need more details.
For every seller there is a buyer, the coins just dont go out of circulation because miners get rid of them. When a coin becomes unprofitable to mine, the difficulty drops to I prove it's profitability again, with the exception of coins like CHNcoin that get stuck at high diff for months (there is a fork coming to fix that) most of the coins are roughly similar, they have their groups of fans that keep trading. If trade dies, then eventually Cryptsy will drop the coin to remove clutter, so I wouldn't worry right now.
Look at ELP - those same goons are behind Valuecoin, SAV, ASC, and others. They are also the ones begging to get these coins listed. The only buyers are uneducated/new...and as soon as these things are listed the price spikes, everyone dumps, and the buyers get screwed. Sure they should have done their homework first...but why even bother listing this crap and supporting the scammers? Cryptsy is having enough problems with micro-sellers/multi-miners/etc and they should be pruning the exchange instead of adding more crap. Most people trading on cryptsy are not professional traders and they're left holding the bag because they didn't know better.
Quality control at the top altcoin exchange is important at this critical time or else altcoins in general will fail -- trust me. If any scammer can make a coin, get it listed on Cryptsy by making a bunch of fake accounts to post with and/or paying others off to assist, and then rip off uneducated buyers there is a real problem. What is the point of all of these clones? As soon as they get listed and dumped they are completely abandoned and it keeps happening. Just because there are enough suckers to make the scam work doesn't mean we should be enabling the scammers. A line has to be drawn -- it's getting a bit ridiculous.
The copy/paste coins have to stop (even the ones that aren't scams from this point forward) - this entire market is quickly becoming a joke and I'd hate to see everything collapse.
There's nothing wrong with ELP, it trades fine at cryptsy. It started there with 0.00007 and shoot up to over 0.0002 then back to 0.0001 now. It is a typical trader manipulations as far as I can tell, and I am happily trade it almost daily. Moreover, profitability-wise it is in the middle range of the LTC group, don't mislead people by saying it is at the bottom, it is not. ELP trades with LTC in cryptsy not with BTC. There's almost no one trades with BTC in coins-e, so it is pointless to quote it for your "evidence". Take a look at the coinchoose yourself.
I noticed that you bash whenever possible the ELP, and I can understand why many people in that thread put you on their ignore list. Barking is of no use, ELP is in cryptsy and it will be there for long.
That's fine if you're enjoying trading it and making a profit. However, there are plenty of other currencies you could be trading to make even more profit.
It's pretty obvious the entire point of ELP was to get it listed on Cryptsy so that the dev and their faithful (aka paid off) followers could dump it. They pumped the price up as best they could (which is easily done with the micro-hype surrounding a newly listed coin) and dumped. Notice that there is no longer any activity in that thread? There were almost daily bumps in the ELP thread and pointless client updates/etc -- they have all dumped their holdings (including the dev's 1.4 million premined ELP) and moved on to SAV/etc.
You can argue about it all day long...but I'm telling you it has to stop. There are enough copy/paste clone coins out there...and we've supported the scammers long enough. Enough people have gotten burned and discouraged -- Cryptsy is making this scam so easy to run it's absurd. They are harder on premined coins now...but with hash power spread so thin over all of the various currencies now it's still pretty easy for the dev and his buddies to rack up a bunch of coins quickly after a weak announcement and ultimately pull off more of the same. It becomes a scam when the dev walks away after dumping their holdings.
I'm not demanding ELP be pulled from Cryptsy -- at this point the damage has been done and that would only further hurt the victims. The scammers have already gotten out. However, some pruning should be done and minimum volume/network speed/etc needs to be considered. When the entire network speed can be doubled by somebody with a handful of GPUs there isn't a shred of security.
Take a look at the people pulling for SAV -- they're all the exact same people. Even the ones that aren't the same username are the same people on different accounts (maybe the identical, poor grammar and post-types will help convince you?) I find it hard to believe you are this naive.
