Great product, although use of blockchain might not be necessary to succeed, but still disruptive!
Shping uses blockchain in two ways.
1.We use Ethereum contracts to administer the crypto-reward element, Shping Coin (SHPING). The primary use of the ledger is to ensure that brands looking to activate campaigns using the App have an adequate balance of Shping Coins to reward shoppers who scan their products, view product information and earn rewards etc.
2. The use of our GS1 EPCIS standard Hyperledger blockchain is another story. We use this to support the serialialisation and traceability information between our system and supplied/brand data. In essence it ensures we can track and trace the provenance of products through the supply chain so that consumers can validate and verify goods at the point of sale, seamlessly.
