I think making the amount of reports that a user has reported should be displayed somewhere in the users summary page on their profile. This should be optional and isn't enabled by default to prevent people who are subconscious about their report count or possibly accuracy being displayed publicly.

It seems that this stat is requested from time to time, and by allowing this information to be presented publicly could offer rewards for reporting driven by the community. For example, if someone opened a thread which encouraged users to report posts accurately and reward them with either merit points or some sort of other reward we may be able to clean up the forum and take a little workload off the moderators at the same time, though with the increase of reports this may actually create more workload though if it makes the forum cleaner and more infringing posts being removed then I think it's worth it.

Not only does this open the possibly of community driven projects to increase report count across all users by offering incentives, it also encourages users who are statistic centric. Whatever the reason for the user reporting, as long as they are reporting accurately it doesn't really matter.

I think a system like this could well be the answer to sections such as the altcoin board which is frequently overrun by spam. I don't think adding new moderators is the solution, rather it's increasing the amount of people reporting the posts when they see them and then having the existing moderators deal with it. Obviously, some input from the current moderators about workload would be appreciated and if it's the lack of reports which is the problem.

If there's any other ideas on how we can get more people reporting and helping maybe we can get this forum a lot cleaner and get some of the readability back that I'm afraid we've lost in certain sections of the forum. If this is too resource heavy have it update every so often instead of instantly even if it updates every 2 weeks or month it should be sufficient enough.

Edit: On a slightly unrelated note could we also know how many posts in total are reported a day? Good and bad if possible.
