I have an idea for a website that will attract many visitors.
I will need to put a lot of effort to build it,
but then it will run (almost) by itself.

What will be the best way to convert it to some passive income?
Advertising? Affiliates? VIP registration?
How much should I expect to earn from it?

Does it have a host? I think that when someone hosts a site, then you're gonna pay for that in a plan. If you're planning to run a site that generates income as people visits into it then make sure it is unique or really worth their time. In advertising, you could be having a hard time promoting it through that because most of the people tend to skip at it. While speaking of skipping it, you got Youtube for a place to advertise your content into it with just a video and monetize it. VIP regs, could work but make sure that the benefits from VIP is worth the price for you and those buyers into it. Affiliate could work if you have a lot of people that you know that works in an organization that could work in your convenience for promotion of your site, but it still depends if the promotion itself will really work out. Your earnings in the site depends also on what type of site are you trying to build.
