It is hard to say that ethereum is the new king of crypto because we all know that bitcoin is the king of crypto currency. Although, many people much prefer to buy the ethereum  but it doesn't mean that it is the new king of crypto. Even ethereum is one of popular altcoin, and yes ethereum is now being used for most of the advanced trader, but it doesn't mean that this is the new king of cryptocurrency, no one knows about this. Although, it is possible to make it happen, but i think it takes a long period  of time.
